Enabling the Run Command in Windows 7

For all you people who used to use the run command in Win XP and feel they would like to use it in Win 7, then please follow on. The first thing you need to do is right-click the Win 7 taskbar and select properties. Next click the Start Menu Tab, located at the top of the page and then click the customize button. Then scroll down until you find the run command option and select the check box.  Then click OK. Last but not least, click apply at the bottom of the page and then click OK. The run command is now available in your start-up menu just like it was in your Win XP.  Here are some shortcuts that you can use for the run command.

  • APPWIZ.CPL-this opens the add or remove programs utility
  • CMD-this opens a command prompt window
  • TASKMGR-this opens the windows task manager
  • MRT-malicious software removal tool
